Blue and Green Beaded Batik Bag
When I delivered the recent polymer clay bead necklaces to Andrea Wilson's gallery in Gatlinburg and I showed her the beaded bags I've been making. To my surprise she suggested another gallery that might be interested in having them in their gallery. Cool, right? So, I drove myself over to Kim's Love Life Live Life gallery. She loved the ones I had to share with Andrea. So, I will take a selection of the beaded batik bags that I have made. I went through my bag stash and found a couple small ones that really need beads. LOL I'll take Kim the finished bags early next week. In the meantime, I'm beading the new finds.

Beaded Ribbons for Goddesses
I have taken the beaded ribbon idea from the little batik bag and added beaded ribbons to hang my goddesses with. I was using the black woven cotton cord and I didn't think the cord was a good fit. So I tried it first with "Lavender Layla" polymer goddess. I'm starting to bead ribbons for the yellow one. She doesn't have a name yet.

Beaded Batik Bag...Necklace
The little batik bag is finished. Do you like it? The bag is 2 1/2" wide by 3" long with 1 3/8" hanging seed bead fringe. I beaded the satin ribbon for the handle/tie/belt. We're still getting to know each other.

Blue Fringe
Stopped beading to take a picture of my progress. This is tedious to say the least, but I think I'm going to love it.

Button Swap Aftermath
My first button swap blog hop is winding down. I actually made it to every blog and I'm thinking, Wow! I have learned so much about the blog hop swap routine. I failed to make a succinct post about our sponsor, Cindy Wimmer of Sweet Beads Studio and to brag about my partner, Angie Blasingame of Hopemore Studios. I hope they forgive me and know that I will do a much better job next time.
I loved watching all my stats change as the last two days have passed. I visited 90 blogs, I'm following as many as I was able. The blog hop isn't over for everyone and I expect it will be a few days til it is. So far, since the opening of the blog hop I have had 21 comments (a new record). I love reading all of them and plan to revisit/follow them as well. My blog also received over 480 hits. Wow! It's like discovering a entire community of artists and people who are liking the stuff I like. Cool, right? I had so much fun using Angie's buttons and beading my batik fabric that I couldn't put everything away. As you can see here. This little bag is going to be fringed!

Button Swap Reveal
Finally managed to get a picture of both pouches. This has been quite a journey. All the buttons I received were way out of my comfort zone and color scheme. I had to let the buttons set awhile to let them simmer in my creative juices. I am happy with my projects and can't wait to begin visiting everyone's blog post today. First I have to finish my post!
Both beaded batik pouches are listed on Etsy today. I listed the remaining buttons I made for the challenge on Etsy as well. Here are those links.

Button Swap Project Green Bag
I am posting the last of my process images making the green batik bag. I have to do a few last minute beads to finish and I want to simply post both finished projects for tomorrow's reveal. I can't wait to see what projects everyone made with their buttons. There will be over 100 artists blogging their projects tomorrow. I'm excited and a little nervous. I hope I did my button artist proud. Here we go!

Button Swap Green and Pink Bag
These are the pieces for the second bag for the button swap. I am using cotton fabrics I have batiked and a scrap of a card woven ribbon I made years ago. I needed to attach the card weaving, so I did it with seed beads. Of course, the button had to be applied as well...with beads! Next step is the lining attached with pins here. Thinking about how to bead, what colors? Too much? Gonna sleep on it.

Button Swap: First Button with Bag
The reveal for the button swap is on Sunday and I have made two projects with two buttons. I swapped with another polymer clay artist. The buttons are totally out of my comfort zone but that was the challenge. The first project is a lined batik bag, hand sewn and beaded. I was so intent on designing and getting started that I forgot to document the beginning steps. So, I wanted to post what I do have of the process. I will show the final result Sunday. In the meantime you can see some of my work to date. I'm still working on the second button project and will have that to share by Sunday.
