Two New Beaded Batik Bags

I'm kind of starting to quietly panic about both of my grandsons and son-in-law coming for a three day visit this summer. Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited I get butterflies and grin, like now, when I think of the visit. Then, the impact it may have on my health makes me afraid that I can't keep up. I think I'll plan things so we all can keep up. Like do grandma things and preteen things alternately...it will be fine/fun! Finished two more beaded batik bags. I will take them to the Live Life Love Life Gallery in Gatlinburg this week.

I've Been Blogged

My etsy shop, Billi's Paper Batiks, has been blogged. It may have happened before but this time I understand better what it means. It's short and sweet. Please drop by. http://tncrafter.blogspot.com/2012/06/this-weeks-feature-business-is-bills.html I photographed a few new pieces to list in my etsy shop. If not today, it's on tomorrow's agenda. I need some props to photograph my necklaces, like a bust, a hand and a head. I just thought of this, so, I'll be researching. Anyway here are some shots, as promised. :-D These are polymer clay.

Ready for the Gallery

I really put out the beading last week. I have an appointment tomorrow to show my bags at a new gallery and I wanted some fresh inventory. Today, I have done the photo shoot and still need to price them. I did some pricing research on Etsy this morning. As usual, some prices were in the hundreds and others just too little. I'll be thinking and working on that later today. I wanted to show the six beaded batik bags I have ready for the gallery. Too bad I'm not sure what to call them: stash bags, gypsy bags, pouches, amulet bags. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Blue and Green Beaded Batik Bag

When I delivered the recent polymer clay bead necklaces to Andrea Wilson's gallery in Gatlinburg and I showed her the beaded bags I've been making. To my surprise she suggested another gallery that might be interested in having them in their gallery. Cool, right? So, I drove myself over to Kim's Love Life Live Life gallery. She loved the ones I had to share with Andrea. So, I will take a selection of the beaded batik bags that I have made. I went through my bag stash and found a couple small ones that really need beads. LOL I'll take Kim the finished bags early next week. In the meantime, I'm beading the new finds.

Beaded Ribbons for Goddesses

I have taken the beaded ribbon idea from the little batik bag and added beaded ribbons to hang my goddesses with. I was using the black woven cotton cord and I didn't think the cord was a good fit. So I tried it first with "Lavender Layla" polymer goddess. I'm starting to bead ribbons for the yellow one. She doesn't have a name yet.

Beaded Batik Bag...Necklace

The little batik bag is finished. Do you like it? The bag is 2 1/2" wide by 3" long with 1 3/8" hanging seed bead fringe. I beaded the satin ribbon for the handle/tie/belt. We're still getting to know each other.
